Luke David

The virtual exhibition is from 7th April to 7th May 2024

Luke David is an award-winning Australian photographer interested in the intersection between community, urban and natural landscapes.

Luke’s passion for photography began in Kyoto on a trip to Japan in 2016, and has rarely been seen without a camera since that date. When abroad, he loves to explore the world through his lens.

At home Luke loves to work on long form photography projects incorporating temporary installations in the vast open spaces of Australia’s landscape. He completed an Advanced Diploma of Photography from Melbourne’s prestigious Photography Studies College in 2022, receiving the Excellence in Final Year award. Luke holds a successful corporate career with Australia’s largest department store, Myer.

He is president of the Melbourne Rainbow Band, an LGBTIQA+ community symphonic band, and holds a BA in Psychology and Creative Writing from the University of Melbourne. In 2023 some of Luke’s awards include winner of the Minimalist Photography Awards (creative), winner of the Museum of Australian Photography Look! Exhibition (street), winner of the APEC Photography Award (influencer), 2nd place in Australia’s Top Emerging Photographer (Art) and a finalist in the International Photography Awards (Architecture and Art).

Luke has exhibited recently in Melbourne Australia at the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Museum of Australian Photography, Yarra Sculpture Gallery, and Wolfhound Gallery.
